Support us to build world’s first circular car!

The student team TU/ecomotive has a dream: “To build a car that is sustainable in all its phases of life”. Since the beginning of September 2017, we have been hard at work to realize “Noah, World’s first circular car”. Now we need your help for the final stretch to show Noah this summer to the rest of the world.

The earth’s population is increasing at an ever-growing rate combined with an increase in overall wealth and life expectancy, this is draining the earth’s resources. To support this new consumption mania companies worldwide will mine for more fossil resources. Earth Overshoot Day translates is the true visualization of this, this day marks the date on which humanity’s resource consumption for the year exceeds Earth’s capacity to regenerate those resources that year. Back in 1980, this date was still in December, last year however, this date moved up to August second with this year's prospects this date will take place for the first in July.

TU/ecomotive wants to push this date to the back of the year again. To do this we will need to transform our current “linear economy”, in which we produce lots of waste, to a circular economy in which products will be designed in such a way that their resources can be used again after its lifecycle. With Noah, we want to show the world that this is not just a dream for the future, but already possible today!

After months of development, we are now ready to start assembling Noah. We are looking forward to early July when we can unveil Noah to the world. To showcase this car and in particular its capabilities we will drive to several major European cities and show people what Noah can do and to spread our vision of a circular economy. To be able to realize this journey we need your help! With 10.000 euros we can make sure the entire team can join Noah on this trip and see our dream becoming reality.  TU/ecomotive is a student team based at the Eindhoven University of Technology and focuses on sustainability in the automotive industry. The team consists of 22 students from 9 different studies such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Industrial Design, Software Science etc. Throughout one year they work together to build the car of the future.

The board consists of 6 students that manage the organization by doing tasks such as account management, marketing, logistics, planning and overall management. The team itself is divided into 3 subteams: Mechanical, Electrical, and Design. At the top of this tip sits the chief which is responsible for his or her subteam and is always in direct contact with the board. This team structure allows for quick decisionmaking and a highly efficient workflow.

The project is completely on a voluntary basis. This means that not a single member of the team receives any compensation (money or study credits) for their time in the team. This is exactly what makes a student team such a unique concept as all member is in it to make the world a little bit better. That is why TU/ecomoitve continues to innovate where other companies would stop.

TU/ecomotive onthult ontwerp Noah
